Banana Peel Bread Recipe

Conforme Unidade Temática do Livro “Sustainable Food” (Alimentação Sustentável) foram trabalhados: vocabulário, vídeos e feito pesquisa com o tema geral “Food Waste” (Desperdício de Alimento); Estudantes pesquisaram e criaram cartazes sobre o assunto; duas equipes escolheram receitas que posteriormente foram feitas na escola.

Banana Peel Bread Recipe 
Ingredients: 
300ml of warm water; 
3 washed banana peels; 
2 tablespoon of sugar; 
1 dessert spoon of salt; 
2 tablespoons of butter; 
2 tablespoons of powdered milk; 
20g of fresh yeast; 
600g of flour. 
Preparation Mode 1. 
Blend the shells with a little water in a blender; 
2 – Transfer to a bowl and add the sugar, yeast, mix well and add the rest of the ingredients; 
3 – Knead dough, if it gets sticky add a little flour; 
4 – Form a ball, grease it with oil and place it in the bowl and inside a plastic bag; 
5 – Close and let rise until doubled in volume, divide into 3 or 4 pieces and open with your hand and roll up; 
6 – Pass water and roll in oat flakes; 
7 – Place in greased loaf pan to rise; 
8 – Bake in an oven at more or less at 180° to 200, when it’s golden take it out of the shape, if it’s well colored underneath it’s good; 
9 – Remove all from the pan and leave on the stove rack to cool; 
10 – When very cold, wrap in cling film and if you want you can freeze it.
